Dog’s organism is not like yours, that’s why it is not necessary to give it such medicine, as paracetamol. Effect of one tablet can lead to a fatal outcome. Resultantly, dogs die directly on hands of their owners after using anti-inflammatory drugs. Remember, that there are anti-inflammatory drugs, which are harmless for dogs, for making which steroids are not used.

Chronic bronchitis.

The cough, also known as infectious tracheobronchitis of dogs, is easily transmitted from one dog to another. It is believed that this illness is caused by some viruses and the bacterium Bordatella Bronchiseptica. Symptoms of the disease are: intermittent dry cough with expectoration from a nose, or without it. Such cough poses a threat to the life of a dog: many dogs make complete recovery in some weeks. However, puppies and small dogs need special care. Any animal with such cough needs to be placed in warm damp conditions and be isolated from other dogs. The veterinary surgeon can prescribe antibiotics. Besides, against some viruses causing cough there are inoculations.

Among nonexperienced and skilled dog’s owners there exist many myths. They do not have any basis, but many people accept them as an axiom. In practice, these myths sometimes cause not so small troubles to people and their pers. We offer you to familiarize yourself with some of these myths and with realities, disproving it.

Warm nose is a symptom of an illness.

Qualitative composition of dog’s food: presence of proteins, carbohydrates, mineral substances, vitamins must be considered. Hypersensibility to one or another substance in a diet is described in medical and veterinary practice. Such allergic reactions as a diarrhea, vomiting, stomachache, eczema, asthma, headaches and even hyperactivity are already learned.

However, allergic reactions to some foodstuffs are not so often in veterinary practice, as in medical one. Almost all allergic reactions boil down to skin manifestations, diarrhoeia and asthmatoid conditions.

Researchers distinguish two big aetiological groups of food allergies: food hypersensitivity (an allergy proper) and food insensibility (inability of an organism to digest some substance).

Caries is a gradual destruction of tooth tissues beginning from tooth enamel. Unfortunately, dogs suffer from it, quite often. However, sometimes owners confuse caries with dark (brown or yellow) stains on teeth of a dog, not leading to tooth destruction.

Primary cause of caries is a metabolic imbalance.

Caries can appear after an infectious disease. The most destructive effect on teeth has distemper. By the way, because of this, it is not recommended to do an inoculation against distemper during changing of teeth. In the best case there will be yellow stains on teeth, or teeth can start to collapse.
