I don’t know how this compares to the Gentle Leader that goes around the dog’s muzzle, but I think this product is WONDERFUL. Night and day difference between using this harness and just a collar. My dogs are uncontrollable without it. That said, this product by no means will fix your dog’s leash walking issues. It’s a band-aid. I have A LOT of patience when it comes to my pets but 5 minutes trying to walk with my dogs on just a collar and I’m about ready to come unglued. Buy this harness and buy it here (you’ll pay nearly double at the pet store). You won’t regret it.
The only reason I scored it a 4/5 is because the part on the chest doesn’t stay tight and I constantly have to readjust. Minor issue in my book.

This harness worked so well in keeping my dog from pulling. He is a very dominant, high-energy lab/Dalmatian mix and even at 13 years wants to run everywhere. I bought this when he was 10, because he gets so excited to walk he just pulls pulls pulls. I combined this with training him to walk back to my side in order to keep from stopping the walk. Unfortunately, though, because this directs the dog to the side, it somehow exacerbated the arthritis in his front left leg. When we used this, he would walk with a pronounced limp not during but after the walk. It’s not worth it to cause him pain, so we stopped using it. Other than that, I highly recommend this. I had tried a Halti before this, and the problem with using a Halti on an easily excitable, high energy dog is that he jumps around while using it, and even though he didn’t care about the discomfort, I was concerned that he was going to tear up his neck since it pulls on the muzzle, making it easy to turn the head.

I have a great dog who is loved and well balanced…. Its just when we get on the leash he looses his mind and wants to run!!!! Lol…There are some good parts of the harness. It is very easy to adjust. It is VERY easy to put on the dog. I am really confused on how this product got such great reviews. My dog must jut be really stubborn. I have a 10 month old German Sheppard and we have tried everything imaginable to leash train him. We were using the choke collar with the prongs (not recommended either), when our vet referred us to this product. We were excited because we all want to enjoy the walk, and it isn’t enjoyable fighting a 90 lb animal. Unfortunately, we saw no change in him pulling, which is our issue. In fact it made him stronger when he pulls.
This review is only implied to people who have a dog that pulls the entire walk. It is durable. It doesn’t make him choke or cough, but it just doesn’t detour my dog from pulling. Again it is a simple harness that has lasted, there is no way to put in on wrong. I just have no idea how it gets such great reviews. To me it is just the same as the standard harness. But if it works for you and your dog than hey that’s great too!

This item seems to be the one people buy when they can’t tame their dogs to wear The Gentle Leader which is also made by the same company. I have to say that this product works well but in my opinion The Gentle Leader is so much better. The Easy Walk effectively stops the pulling and makes your dog look like a working dog. On my lab it looks like he is a rescue dog lol. I got him a large and he is about 65lbs.
It has adjustable straps everywhere to make it fit, but it can be a little tricky getting it right. I noticed on my other dog, a Pit/Lab mix (55lbs), it was impossible to have him wear it. Because of his athletic build, The large would be a tad big fully adjusted for him, and the medium was a tad bit too small, so I got the gentle leader instead, which has been awesome so far. For those of you who return The Gentle Leader for this, watch the DVD for it before you return it, it shows you how to put it on very well, also local pet stores will teach you how to use it as well.

I have a one year old boxer/pitt mix that we recently adopted and when he’s on just a leash he practically yanks my arm off. One time he took off really fast and the leash pulled so hard on my finger that it ended up swollen. And my last walk around the block with him almost ended with me in the ditch! So I started looking for harnesses here on Amazon and came across this one and thought for $13 how could I go wrong? My measurements told me to get a large and I had to adjust the harness all the way down to the smallest setting. As soon as I put it on him I noticed a BIG difference. Instead of pulling me down the driveway, he walked with me. He walks at my side and doesn’t try to pull me anymore. It’s a miracle! I wish I would have bought this earlier! We can now walk around the block without any issues! Buy this!
